Axial T2 weighted images reveal multiple smoothly marginated cystic masses
of differing sizes localized to the basal cisterns. A large cyst is seen distorting
the frontal horn of the left lateral ventricle. Hydrocephalus is present. Note the
splaying of the optic nerves.
Left image: A higher axial T2-weighted image shows the large cyst to be within
the frontal horn of the left lateral ventricle. Additional cysts are present within
the anterior interhemispheric fissure.
Right images: Sagittal & coronal T1-weighted images confirm the cysts within the
left lateral ventricle and the interhemispheric fissure. The signal intensity of the
cyst contents is similar to CSF.
Post-gadolinium T1 weighted images show no enhancement.
