Legend
Axial T2WIs show diffuse regions of mild hyperintensity with slight mass effect, mostly in the
left hemisphere but also involving the splenium of corpus callosum with extension into the
right posterior white matter. The left basal ganglia is involved with extension down into the
left cerebral peduncle.
Legend
Post contrast T1WIs do not show any abnormal enhancement of the lesion.
Center: Single voxel spectroscopy (TE 30 msec) through the abnormal white matter in the
posterior left temporal lobe discloses decreased NAA, slightly increased choline, and elevated
myo-inositol peak.
