Legend
Axial and coronal CT temporal bone images demonstrate a large soft tissue mass
centered in the region of the geniculate ganglion with abnormal soft tissue/fluid
density extending into the middle ear cavity. There is marked thinning and
bulging of the tegmen tympani. There is fluid opacification of the mastoid air
cells and mild distortion of the ossicles. The cochlea and internal auditory
canal appear intact. Also, note enlargement of the labyrinthine and mastoid
(vertical) segments of the facial nerve canal and stylomastoid foramen.
