Images 1 & 2: Axial CT images of face in bone window setting demonstrate
comminuted fractures with depression deformity of the anterior and lateral walls
of Lt maxillary antrum. Gross deformity and fracture of the Lt zygomatic arch is also
well shown. Multiple air density areas are seen within the adjacent soft tissues.
Soft tissue density is present inside the antrum with suggestion of air-fluid level.
Image 3: Axial CT scan of orbits in bone window setting shows deformity of the
lateral wall of Lt orbit with breakage of bony cortex. Small bony fragment inside
the Lt orbit is demonstrated. Several air pockets are seen within the Lt orbit and
adjacent soft tissue of the face.
Images 4 & 5: Coronal CT images of face in bone window setting reveal depression of
the Lt orbital floor and lateral wall of maxillary antrum with bony discontinuity. Diastasis
of Lt frontozygomatic suture is well shown. Orbital emphysema is also present.
Image 6: Coronal CT scan of face in soft tissue window setting shows again the
deformity of the floor of Lt orbit with associated soft tissue swelling. (T. Lai)
