Image 1: Sagittal T2 weighted image of Lumbosacral spine reveals a well defined
roundish hyperintense lesion within the spinal canal at the L4/5 disc level.
Adjacent nerve roots appear displaced.
Images 2 & 3: Axial proton-density and T2 weighted images show the lesion located
at Rt posterolateral aspect of the spinal canal with close anatomical relationship to
a degenerated Rt facet joint. The lesion is similar in signal intensity to synovial joint
fluid and has a distinct hypointense capsule. (T. Lai)
