Legend
Axial T2WIs show enlarged lateral ventricles. There is a 1 cm hyperintense mass
at the foramen of Monro, with a focal area of low signal posteriorly. High signal
intensity is seen in the periventricular white matter at the level of the frontal horns.
Legend
Axial FLAIR images confirm markedly enlarged ventricles with
periventricular high signal intensity (especially at the frontal horns).
Legend
Axial FLAIR (left upper image) shows a mostly isointense lesion with a focal
hypointensity. Coronal T1WI (left lower image) shows a mildly hypointense
mass with a focal area of isointensity.
Axial and coronal post-contrast T1WIs (right) demonstrate no enhancement
of the mass at the foramen of Monro. The enhancement at the periphery
represents choroid plexus draped around the mass.

Colloid cyst with hydrocephalus.
The complex signals (high & low signal)
within the cyst suggests 2 compartments
