Legend
CT scans reveal a large subdural fluid collection with heterogeneous density
consistent with bleeding of different ages. There significant mass effect with subfalcine
herniation and hydrocephalus due to obstruction at the level the foramen of Monro.
Legend
Following surgery a right frontal intraparenchymal hemorrhage has developed but overall
there is significant improvement in mass effect. Low attenuation along the falx suggests
ischemia in the posterior or anterior cerebral artery distribution due to compression of
vessels during herniation. A small amount of blood is present in the left occipital horn.
Low density in the left thalamus represents a contusion or infarct
Key words: trauma
Brain Diagnosis:
Day 1 - Large right subdural hematoma.
Day 2 - Right frontal lobe hemorrhage, Right ACA &
PCA infarcts, Left thalamic contusion or infarct
