The left middle cerebral artery is hyperdense on these axial noncontrast
CT images. The temporal horn and Sylvian fissure are patent with no
evidence of mass effect on these images.
The borders of the left external capsule are indistinct as compared
to the right consistent with early edema.
There is now decreased attenuation in the left frontotemporal region with effacement
of the Sylvian fissure. The left middle cerebral artery continues to be hyperdense.
More rostral images demonstrate extensive edema in left
middle cerebral artery distribution.
