Legend
Noncontrast axial CT images show a right convexity, lentiform, extra axial fluid collection
with fluid/fluid levels of mixed density. There are regions of both increased and
decreased density. There is significant compression of the ipsilateral ventricle and
dilatation of the contralateral ventricle due to obstruction at the foramen of Monro as well
as subfalcine herniation. There is also a right parietal scalp injury.
Legend
On the bottom left image there is obliteration of the suprasellar cistern consistent with
descending transtentorial herniation. On the bottom right image a small focus of
increased density is noted in the left parietal lobe consistent with a contra coup contusion.
Key words: trauma
Brain Diagnosis:
Acute & subacute right subdural hematomas;
Left parietal contusion - patient was
on coumadin for atrial fibrillation
