Legend
Sagittal radiographs of the cervical spine demonstrate abnormal alignment with
retrolisthesis of the C-3 and C-4 vertebral bodies. There are also fractures with
marked anterior compression of the vertebral bodies and abnormal splaying
of the posterior elements.
Legend
Axial CT images of the C-3 and C-4 vertebral bodies demonstrate comminuted
fractures at both levels with compromise of the spinal canal by bony fragments.
Legend
On sagittal T1 and T2 images there is abnormal signal intensity within the cervical cord
at the C-3 and C-4 level consistent with a contusion. High signal on the T2 images
in the anterior and posterior paravertebral soft tissues suggest ligamentous injuries.
