Legend
Axial T2-WI as well as axial FLAIR at the level of the basal ganglia demonstrate
near symmetric hyperintensity located in the occipital white matter. Note the
involvement of the subcortical u-fibers. To a lesser degree, the abnormal signal
is also present in the overlying posterior occipital cortex.
Legend
More cephalad FLAIR images demonstrate abnormal hyperintensity located
also in the subcortical and deeper white matter of the frontal and parietal lobes.
Legend
Coronal T1-WI suggests subtle T1 shortening in the involved areas. Post
gadolinium T1WI FS images are notable for the lack of contrast enhancement.
