Legend
Coronal T1-WI demonstrates a hypointense lesion centered in the left frontal periventricular
white matter. Axial FLAIR sequences demonstrate the characteristic finger-like to ovoid
projections of hyperintense signal extending outward from the periventricular white matter.
Legend
Axial T2-WI also demonstrates involvement of the brainstem.
Notice the bilateral hyperintense lesions along the 5th nerves in the pons.
Legend
Sagittal T1-WI demonstrate "Dawson's fingers" (ovoid lesions with their long axis
perpendicular to the ventricular surface). Note the classic location with involvement
of the corpus callosum. Post-gadolinium T1-WI demonstrates enhancement at the
periphery of the left periatrial lesion.
