Legend Rt and Lt images: Axial T2 weighted images of the brain reveal multiple hyperintense areas in basal ganglia, thalami and internal capsules on both sides. The signal intensity of these areas is comparable to that of CSF.

Legend Rt and Lt images: Axial T1 weighted images demonstrate hypointense areas in the basal ganglia and internal capsules on both sides. The number and size of these areas are smaller and less numerous when compared with the finding on T2 weighted images.

Legend Rt and Lt images: Axial FLAIR images show high signal lesions in both basal ganglia, internal capsules and the white matter around both frontal and occipital horns. Low signal areas are also seen in both basal ganglia and internal capsules. Key words: mri vascular
