Coronal T2 (left) and FLAIR (right) images demonstrate abnormal high signal in the left
hippocampus with evidence for atrophy and mild dilatation of the left temporal horn.
Atrophy is also noted in the left parahippocampal gyrus.
Single-voxel proton MR spectra (TE 30 msec) reveal reduced NAA / choline ratio on the left
compared to the normal right hippocampus.
