Axial T2 images reveal multiple well-defined, high-signal areas in the basal ganglia near the
lateral aspects of the anterior commissure bilaterally.
On coronal and sagittal T1 images these regions are low signal similar to CSF. Linear
hypointensities course superiorly from these regions.
