FLAIR axial images reveal severe high signal abnormality in the periventricular white matter.
Sagittal FLAIR scans (left) reveal involvement of the inner fibers of the corpus callosum
along the callosal-septal interface (top image) and extension of many of the lesions
laterally within the corpus callosum along the ependymal surface (bottom image). On an axial
T1WI (right) the lesions are distinctly hypointense with well-defined margins.
Many of these lesions reveal enhancement on post-gad images. Note the curvilinear enhancement
of the subcortical U-fibers in the medial right frontal lobe (left image).
