Sag T2W: Large disc extrusion at L5-S1, displacing traversing nerve roots.
Ax T1W and Ax T2W: Extrusion is left paracentral, impressing on the thecal sac and filling
the left lateral recess, compressing the traversing left S1 and S2 nerve roots.
Sag and Ax T2W, Ax T1W: nearly identical radiographic findings 6 weeks post-op,
with new post-surgical changes in the posterior soft tissues.
Sag and Ax T1W: Post gadolinium, extensive enhancement is seen in the surgical bed
and surrounding the low T1W signal in the region of the previous extrusion.
