Image 1: Axial T2 weighted image of brain at skull base reveals a heterogeneous
lesion of intermediate signal in the inferior temporal and mastoid bones on Rt side.
High signal within the Rt mastoid air cells is likely fluid.
Image 2: Coronal T1 weighted image of brain shows the lesion as intermediate
signal area with extension to the basal cistern on Rt side.
Legend
Image 3: Sagittal T1 weighted image shows a subtle extraaxial isointense lesion in
frontal region with involvement of frontal skull bone.
Image 4: Axial T2 weighted image demonstrates the lesion seen on image 3 as a
low signal lesion in Lt frontal region. Frontal skull bone lesion is also well shown.
Legend
Images 5 & 6: Coronal pre and post gadolinium T1 weighted images show
heterogeneous enhancement of the Lt frontal lesion with associated dural
thickening and enhancement. The Lt frontal bone involvement is clearly
demonstrated with the extension of enhancement to the diploic space.
Image 7: Axial post gadolinium T1 weighted image shows again the heterogeneously
enhancing lesion with erosion of inner table in the adjacent Lt frontal bone.
Legend
Images 8 & 9: Axial and coronal post gadolinium T1 weighted images demonstrate
the previously noted Rt skull base lesion as heterogeneously enhancing lesion
involving the Rt temporal bone, mastoid and adjacent occipital bone.
