Legend
Top Lt: Axial T2 weighted fat suppressed image of the face reveals a slightly
heterogeneous high signal mass involving Lt pterygoid muscles in the masticator
space, and Lt side of the nasopharynx. The Lt pterygopalatine fossa is widened,
and the posterior wall of Lt maxillary antrum is bowed anteriorly.
Bottom Rt and Lt: Coronal and axial T1 weighted images demonstrate the lesion
as isointense area with obliteration of Lt parapharyngeal fat plane. Isointense
signal within the Rt sphenoid sinus is noted.
Legend
Top Lt , Bottom Rt and Bottom Lt: Axial post gadolinium fat saturation T1
weighted images show the lesion is intensely enhanced with contrast.
Top Rt: Coronal post gadolinium fat saturation T1 weighted image demonstrates
the enhancing lesion that involves the Lt masticator space, pterygopalatine fossa,
and posterior nasal cavity. The low signal seen within the Rt sphenoidal sinus is
likely fluid related to obstruction of the sinus opening by the lesion.
Legend
Lt Bottom & Top images: Oblique and lateral views of Lt external carotid
arteriogram in arterial phase show the lesion as hypervascular lesion with
dense tumor stain. The lesion is mainly supplied by the Lt internal maxillary artery.
Rt Bottom: An AP view of a left internal carotid angiogram reveals additional arterial
supply from small branches of the cavernous carotid and the ophthalmic artery.
