T2 sagittal, T1 sagittal, axial T2 (top) and axial T1 (bottom) images are presented.
Loss of disc height is seen at L4-L5 and L5-S1. There is a disc bulge at L4-5 and
herniated disc with osteophyte formation and end-plate changes at L5-S1. L5-S1 left
paracentral disc extrusion is evident on the axial images with obliteration of the
lateral recess.

Post contrast T1 sagittal and serial axial images of the lumbar spine reveal the
nonenhancing disk extrusion (image 5) and enhancement of the nerve roots,
especially the left S1 root.
