Rt & Lt images: Noncontrast CT scans of the head disclose diffuse
acute subarachnoid hemorrhage, with blood in the suprasellar,
anterior interhemispheric, Sylvian and ambient cisterns.
The temporal horns of the lateral ventricles are enlarged.
Rt & Lt images: Higher CT sections reveal subarachnoid blood in the sulci
of both cerebral hemispheres. Blood is also layered in the occipital horns.
The lateral ventricles are dilated, indicating acute obstructive hydrocephalus.
Lt image: AP view of right carotid angiogram is normal.
Rt image: AP view of left carotid angiogram reveals filling of a
6 x 3 mm vascular structure near the anterior communicating artery.
Base (Lt) and lateral (Rt) views of left carotid angiogram confirm
a small anterior communicating artery aneurysm.
