Left and right: Axial T2W and FLAIR images of the brain show multifocal
periventricular white matter lesions. Many lesions assume a horizontal orientation.
There is little edema or mass effect associated with the lesions
Axial FLAIR images show centrum semiovale and subcortical U-fiber lesions in addition
to the periventricular region. Corpus callosum lesions can be identified on the right image.
Left: Axial FLAIR image at the level of the thalami shows again
peri-ventricular and corpus callosal lesions.
Right: Axial FLAIR image of the posterior fossa shows nodular
white matter lesions in the cerebellum and brain stem
On post-gadolinium T1W images the lesions are hypointense, and a few of them enhance.
