Legend
Enhanced axial CT images of the mandible and neck show heterogeneous soft
tissue swelling surrounding the left mandible. The process is primarily in the left
masticator space but has extended medially into the anterior parapharygeal
space. A focal area of low density just medial to the angle of the mandible
suggests some liquefaction or necrosis. Airway deviation to the right is noted.
Legend
Left and middle: enhanced CT images show bilateral enlarged tonsils
in addition to the left soft tissue swelling. Also noted is a large lymph
node in the left jugular chain
Right: axial CT with bone windowing shows the minimally displaced left
