Sagittal T2WI's show posterior subluxation of C6 and a fracture of the spinous
process. Hyperintensity within the posterior soft tissues is highly suggestive
of posterior ligamentous injury. Note the abnormal hyperintensity in the cord.
Axial T2WI's show loss of CSF surrounding the cord at the C6 level.
Cord swelling and signal abnormalities can be appreciated.
