Image 1: Sagittal T2 weighted image of lumbar spine shows subtle high intensity
lesion at conus medullaris.
Image 2: Axial T2 weighted image confirms the hyperintense lesions at the conus.
Image 3: Sagittal T1 weighted image demonstrates the conus abnormality as
subtle isointense lesions.
Legend
Image 4: Sagittal post gadolinium T1 weighted image reveals enhancing
nodules at the conus. Abnormal enhancement of the surface of the cord
and the nerve roots is also seen.
Images 5 & 6: Axial post gadolinium fat saturation T1 weighted images
confirm the abnormal enhancement of the conus and the nerve roots.
Legend
Image 7: Axial T2 weighted image of brain shows lesion hypointense to CSF
on both sides of the septum pellucidum within the lateral ventricles.
A hyperintense lesion is also seen in Rt parietooccipital region of the brain.
Image 8: Axial FLAIR image demonstrates the the same lesions as
hyperintense nodular masses.
Legend
Image 9: Axial T1 weighted image reveals the lesions within both lateral ventricles as
isointense lesions. The Rt parietooccipital lesion is not well seen on this image.
Images 10 & 11: Axial post gadolinium T1 weighted images of brain show
strong enhancement of the lesions within the lateral ventricles and Rt parietooccipital
region. In addition, linear ependymal enhancement of the lateral ventricles is seen,
especially along both frontal horns. A nodular enhancing lesion in the
hypothalamic/chiasmatic region is also present. (T. Lai)
