Legend
Left: Sagittal T2WI of the cervical spine shows anterior epidural high signal intensity
at the C6-7 level causing central canal narrowing. Abnormal linear hyperintensity is
also present in the prevertebral space anterior to the C3 through C6 vertebral bodies.
The vertebral bone marrow and spinal cord signal are normal.
Middle and right: Sagittal T1WI's with gadolinium and fat suppression show diffuse
enhancement of the ventral epidural space with patchy nonenhancing areas indicating
liquefaction of the process. Linear enhancement is also noted in the prevertebral space.
Legend
Axial T1WI's with gadolinium and fat suppression show the enhancement of the
ventral epidural space with a focal area of nonenhancement (right lower image).
The central canal is significantly narrowed.
